About me
My name is Magyari Krisztina. Although I have never planned to become a professional translator, I started translating texts soon after beginning learning languages. At the time being only ten years old, with a pen and a notebook, flipping through a printed dictionary. Whenever I found something interesting written in English, I translated it. The quality of my “work” at that time is likely to be questionable, but determination, pursuit of continuous development and learning has remained.
Although high school years were still heavily influenced by learning foreign languages (English-Hungarian bilingual grammar school), afterwards I turned aside from languages. Finally, after spending two years in England, I started my journey in professional translation. I tried myself in several areas at first, but I felt the most comfortable with technical and IT texts. My studies in architecture have also been most useful in this field, and the in-depth studies in anatomy and physiology (majoring in psychology) has helped me in translating documents related to medical devices and laboratory equipments. During this period, I continued my studies in translation.
My interest in information technology meant not only a special field of translation for me, as it has become more and more unimaginable to be a translator without IT knowledge. If I had the opportunity, I was glad to get to know different software. Although I mainly work with SDL Trados Studio, I had the opportunity to use other CAT tools (Star Transit, MemoQ), and I am not afraid of learning to use another software for a larger project.

How can I send you the document to be translated?
The most simple way is sending by email. In case the file is too big, you only have a hard copy of the document, or there is anything making it difficult to send in email, then call me or send me a message, and we will find a solution.
How much does it cost and how much time does it take to translate a document?
A fordítandó anyagra minden esetben egyedi ajánlatot adok. Az elszámolás alapja a forrásnyelvi (a nyelv, amelyről a fordítás történik) karakterek vagy szavak száma. Az ár továbbá függ a határidőtől, illetve a dokumentum fordításához szükséges egyéb feladatoktól (pl. nem szerkeszthető, beszkennelt pdf fájl fordítása.) A fordítandó anyag minőségétől függően napi 10-15000 karakternyi anyagot tudok vállalni. Egy biztos: az ajánlat a pontos árat és határidőt tartalmazza, nem lesznek utólagos meglepetések.

What do I have to do if I would like to get my website translated?
Translation of a website is slightly more complex than of a simple document. In this case contact me about the further steps.
Can you undertake the proofreading of a translated text:
If your text has been already translated yb someone, but you need a revision of the text, I can undertake the proofreading of it. You will get a unique quote for this task.
In case you want further proofreading of a text translated by me, then I can get in contact with a reliable colleague, I have previously worked with. You will know exactly who that proofreader is before accepting my quotation.
